I understand that the James Bourne Society has arranged a lecture on 'Benjamin Beddome: Cotswold Pastor and Baptist Hymnwriter.' The lecture will take place on Saturday, 21 October at 2.30 pm in the Village hall in Watchfield, near Swindon, SN6 8TA. I am not sure who the speaker is. This will be the sixth annual lecture of the society. Last year's lecture, now in print, was by Trayton Pont on Resisting the Flood Tide: Evangelical High Calvinism on the Romney Marsh. The society would be a Gospel Standard grouping.

Thanks Gary for this publicity. The speaker is Stephen Pickles. Stephen has previously spoken for the society and his lecture on Richard Davis was expanded into a book and recieved high acclaim (reviewed by Michael Haykin in the Banner of Truth). He also ably assisted the kate John Broome in his landmark study of Anne Steele.
Our past published lectures can be ordered from Christian Bookshop Ossett.
While our current trustees are all adherents of Gospel Standard churches we are an independent society established by the late Jonathan Morgan, archivist at Dr William's Library. We exist for the study and propagation of the history of the preaching of the doctrines of sovereign grace in the UK.
Thanks for the info and clarification.
